📝 90 MCQs · 90 Minutes ❌ No Negative Marking 💻 OCET Online Exam 🔓 Any Branch Eligible
📋

Understanding the Exam

B.Tech LEET – Official Pattern

Haryana LEET (Lateral Entry Engineering Test) is conducted online by HSTES as a Computer Based Test (OCET). It is the gateway for diploma holders to directly enter 2nd year B.Tech — skipping the first year entirely.

Exam Mode Online Computer Based Test (OCET)
Total Questions 90 MCQs (1 mark each)
Duration 90 Minutes
Marking Scheme +1 correct · 0 wrong · 0 unattempted
Branch Flexibility Any diploma branch → Any B.Tech branch ✓
💡Key insight: Since there is no negative marking, you should attempt all 90 questions. Leaving a question blank is the same as getting it wrong — zero marks either way.
B.Pharmacy LEET – Pattern

B.Pharmacy LEET is for D.Pharm holders seeking direct entry to 2nd year B.Pharm. The exam is conducted online and includes approximately 90 MCQs covering four major pharmacy subjects.

  • Pharmaceutics — dosage forms, drug delivery systems, calculations
  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry — drug synthesis, medicinal chemistry, SAR
  • Pharmacology — drug actions, mechanisms, adverse effects
  • Pharmaceutical Analysis & HAP — analytical methods, human anatomy & physiology
💡Focus on D.Pharm syllabus topics. The exam tests what you already studied — no new content.

Section-wise Preparation Strategy

B.Tech LEET — 4 Sections · 90 Marks Total

The B.Tech LEET paper has 4 sections. Sections A and B together carry 50 marks — prioritise these.

Section A – Basic Sciences 25 Marks

  • Mathematics (8Q): APs, Complex Numbers, Matrices, Trigonometry, Calculus, Probability, Statistics — short numericals only
  • Physics (8Q): Newton's Laws, Work-Energy, SHM, Waves, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electrostatics
  • Chemistry (3Q): pH, Hardness of water, Electronic configuration — very basic
  • Communication Skills (3Q): Grammar, Tenses, Vocabulary
  • General Awareness (3Q): Haryana GK, HSBTE/HSTES system

Tip: Make a formula notebook and revise daily. Solve each question in ~60 seconds.

Section B – Electronics Stream 25 Marks

  • Electrical Engineering (9Q): Kirchhoff's Laws, AC/DC circuits, Transformers, DC Machines, Faraday's Laws
  • Electronics Engineering (8Q): Diodes, BJT, FET, Op-Amps, Rectifiers, SCR, DIAC, TRIAC, Digital Logic
  • Computer Engineering (8Q): Number systems, Logic gates, CPU, Memory, C programming basics, OS, Networking

Tip: Use your diploma notes — don't start new heavy books. Focus on definitions and basic circuit analysis.

Section C – Mechanical Stream 20 Marks

  • Mechanical Engineering (8Q): Stress/Strain, Thermodynamics cycles, Bernoulli's theorem, Friction
  • Production Engineering (6Q): Turning, Drilling, Milling, Welding, Casting, Vernier/Micrometer
  • Automobile Engineering (6Q): Engine components, Cooling, Lubrication, Clutch, Gearbox, Brakes, Steering

Tip: Focus on definitions and classifications rather than deep derivations.

Section D – Other Engineering Streams 20 Marks

  • Civil (5Q): Building materials, Surveying, Concrete, RCC basics
  • Textile (5Q): Fibres, Weaving, Dyeing, Bleaching
  • Chemical/Ceramic/Food/Others (10Q): High-level definitions and classifications

Tip: Use the official syllabus to mark headings matching your diploma branch and revise those first.

Priority order: Section A + B = 50 marks. Master these first. Section C and D = 40 marks. Revise these from your diploma notes in the last 2–3 weeks.
B.Pharmacy LEET — 4 Subjects

1. Pharmaceutics (~22–25Q)

  • Dosage forms: tablets, capsules, solutions, suspensions, emulsions
  • Drug delivery systems (sustained release, transdermal)
  • Pharmaceutical calculations and manufacturing processes
  • Quality control and GMP basics

2. Pharmaceutical Chemistry (~22–25Q)

  • Drug synthesis routes and medicinal chemistry
  • Structure-activity relationships (SAR)
  • Inorganic and organic chemistry of drugs

3. Pharmacology (~22–25Q)

  • Drug actions, receptors, mechanisms
  • Therapeutic uses, adverse effects, drug interactions
  • Important drug classes: antibiotics, analgesics, CVS drugs

4. Pharmaceutical Analysis & HAP (~22–25Q)

  • Analytical methods: chromatography, spectroscopy, titration
  • Human body systems, organ functions, pharmacokinetics

3-Month Study Plan

Month 1
Foundation
  • Read official syllabus PDF fully
  • Mark weak areas in each section
  • Build formula notebook (Maths + Physics)
  • Revise 2nd and 3rd year diploma notes
  • Attempt 1 PYQ as a baseline test
Month 2
Core Preparation
  • Deep dive: Section A (Maths + Physics)
  • Electronics + Computer concepts
  • Mechanical engineering revision
  • Solve 2 PYQs timed at 90 minutes
  • Use ChatGPT / YouTube for unclear topics
Month 3
Practice & Revision
  • Solve all remaining PYQs on computer
  • Timed 90-min mock test every 2 days
  • Revise formula notebook daily
  • Weak topic revision in final week
  • Read exam day checklist 2 days before
📌Start earlier if possible — 2 months is the minimum for most students. Practise on a computer screen to simulate the actual OCET environment.

Exam Day Strategy

Attempt ALL 90 Questions

No negative marking means blank = wrong. Guess intelligently — never leave any question unattempted.

⏱️
1 Minute per Question

90 questions in 90 minutes = 1 min/Q. Move quickly, mark skipped ones and return later.

🏃
Easy First, Hard Last

Attempt questions you know first. Come back to difficult ones in remaining time.

🖥️
Practice on Computer

It's a CBT exam. If you practise on paper only, the screen and mouse will slow you down on exam day.

🌙
Sleep Well the Night Before

A well-rested brain makes better decisions. Avoid all-nighters the day before exam.

📵
Report Early to Centre

OCET centers have check-in procedures. Reach 30 min early to avoid last-minute stress.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Leaving questions blank. With no negative marking, even a random guess has a 25% chance of getting +1 mark. Always attempt every question.

Practising only on paper. LEET is a Computer Based Test. You must practise on a screen to build CBT speed.

Ignoring Section A. Basic Sciences carries 25 marks — skipping it for branch subjects is a costly mistake.

Starting new heavy books. Diploma notes and PYQ are enough. Don't waste time on JEE-level books.

Skipping mock tests. Solving PYQ without timing yourself is ineffective. Always use a 90-minute timer.

Poor time management. Getting stuck on one hard question and losing time for 10 easy ones is a major rank-killer.
